WHY A TRAVEL CONSULTATION ?

All travel outside of Canada and the United States confers a certain risk for exposure to illnesses and viruses not present here.

During your Travel Health Consultation you will be informed of all the health risks that you could encounter during your travels.

The health professional, specialized in Travel Health, will make recommendations for precautions to take during your trip, vaccinations to take pre-travel and medications to bring with you. Each case is different (traveler & trip) so it is important to consult with a professional who will make recommendations specific to your case so that you can travel without worry. Here are some other elements to consider…

DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR HEALTH CONDITION?

Are you pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant? Are you breastfeeding? Will you be travelling with children? Are you over 60 years old? Do you take any medications? Do you have a particular health condition? Do you have allergies?

Due to these factors and more, it is possible that you will not receive the standard recommendations for vaccinations, prescriptions and precautions to take during your travels.

Only a health professional specialized in Travel Health will be able to properly guide you and make accurate recommendations specific to your needs.

DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE ALREADY FOUND ALL OF THE TRAVEL HEALTH INFORMATION YOU NEED ONLINE?

While information online can be accurate, it is not necessarily up to date and is certainly not specific to your case. Risks for a given travel destination can change on a daily basis.

To be completely certain and reassured you are encouraged to make an appointment with one of our travel health professionals who will answer all of your questions and evaluate your case.

ARE YOU HOPING TO HAVE EVERYTHING TAKEN CARE OF IN A SINGLE VISIT?

Our nurses, specialized in Travel Health, will provide you with a detailed consultation as well as administer the vaccines that are recommended to you and provide you with the necessary travel prescriptions in the same visit.

ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY RAMQ?

Pre-travel health consultations and vaccines are not services covered by the Régie de l’Assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ) in any type of clinic.

However, the vaccine fees are reimbursed by many private health insurance plans. You can refer to your health insurance provider using the vaccine DIN number in order to confirm whether the cost is covered by your particular health insurance plan.
