Rapid Molecular Test (NAAT)
Receive an attestation of test results within 30 minutes. The NAAT test is a quick, reliable and accurate test for detecting SARS-CoV-2.
Before booking an appointment, patients must verify with the Government (Consulate/Embassy) of their destination to determine if a molecular (NAAT) Test complies with entry requirements.
We offer NAAT tests for asymptomatic travelers for fast, accurate results
-
The appointment will be about 10 minutes, and you will receive the results certificate 30 minutes later via email or can wait at the clinic for your results
-
The cost is $195 (no tax or consult/appointment fee). Check with your insurance to see if it’s covered, as the cost of COVID-19 testing is reimbursed by most benefits providers.
Rapid Molecular Test (NAAT)
This molecular test uses nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) technology to identify individuals potentially infected with SARS CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) at the time of testing. To take a sample for the NAAT test, a swab is inserted into the nasal cavity (nose).
- Receive results within 30 minutes
- Attestation of test result delivered by our clinic

What IS NAAT ?
A Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) is a type of viral diagnostic test that detects the presence of genetic material (nucleic acids or RNA) of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The NAAT process involves making copies of the virus’s genetic material, if any is present in an individual’s specimen. NAAT can detect very small amounts of SARS-CoV-2 genetic material in a specimen, making this test highly sensitive for diagnosing COVID-19.
Health Canada has approved different methods to amplify nucleic acids and detect the presence of virus in a specimen. For example, Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), Transcription mediated amplification (TMA), Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) etc. At Summit Health we use Nicking endonuclease amplification reaction (NEAR) testing to provide quick and accurate results
